I began a lifelong love affair with coffee from the tender age of 13, when I had my first latte and it forever changed the trajectory of my life. As a lover of people, community and coffee, I have worked hard to create beautiful spaces in Annapolis where people can find those things which fill the soul.
I and my husband were both AACPS teachers and needed a side hustle to support living in Annapolis and starting a family. Having always loved coffee + community, we were fortunate enough to start Brown Mustache Coffee in 2013, starting out in Farmers Markets, and then opened our storefront within Old Fox Books in 2016. Eventually, I left my teaching job in 2016 after having our 2nd son and worked at Brown Mustache full-time. Next, Joel was able to leave his career in education to start up Curate in 2019. We didn't open until 2021 because of the pandemic, but we fought hard through those 18 months to make the dream of Curate a reality! We opened Curate in March of 2021 and then we had our 4th son in May 2021. Wild.
Running the day to day operations of both businesses, as well as being a Momma to our 4 young sons, I can usually be found at either Curate, Brown Mustache, or working from The Fount. When I'm not working, I love to run, be outside, read and be with the people I love. Most usually, with a cup of coffee in my hands.
